China Z Visa: China Employment Visa

China Z Visa is the Chinese Employment Visa which is issued to a non-China Citizen and his/her accompanying family members to work in China.

You may qualify for China Visa Waiver Program, which means you may not need to apply for a Chinese visa. The other major China Visas are:

Documents you need for Chinese Z Visa application:

A valid passport with no less than six months of remaining validity and at least one blank visa page.
A copy of the information page from your passport.
A completed application form.
One recent photo, 2x2 square inches, in black & white or color, glued or stapled on the application form.
If you are in another country other than your home country, and you want to apply for a Chinese visa from that country, you also need to provide the original and photocopy of your legal stay documents in that country, such as, Work Permit, I-20 Form, Permanent Residency Card, valid Visa by that country, etc.
If your former nationality was Chinese and this is your first time applying for a China visa, you need to write down your Chinese name in the application form and submit your original Chinese passport and the photocopy of the information page of the passport.
If your former nationality was Chinese and you have acquired a new US passport, you need to submit the old US passport or the photocopy of the Chinese visa if there is a Chinese visa on it.
A visa notification issued by the authorized Chinese unit.
An originial and a photocopy of the Work Permit for Aliens issued by the Chinese Labor Ministry or the original of Foreign Expert's License issued by the Chinese Foreign Expert Bureau.
For the accompanying family members, a visa notification issued by the authorized Chinese unit or proof of kinship, such as a marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc, is required.
